Berley Bucket: A Must Have Fishing Device

Catching a fish, whether game fishing or fishing as a living, lies in having a good berley trail. So the next time you go fishing ensure your berley trail will gather fish around your bait. One secret to having a good berley trail is to have the proper berley bucket. These pots can be quite costly so you need to invest in something that may actually do its job and will serve you for a longer time.

When searching for a berley bucket, check if it is easy for you to use. There are buckets that may be permanently mounted on transoms and there are also removable polyethylene buckets. Removable ones are endorsed for people that don't regularly go fishing. There are also buckets suitable for mounting in marlin boards. Buckets made of wire are the best for stream fishing as the stainless steel construction can resist toothy fish. Berley buckets come in tiny or short size, medium, long, or extra large size to suit different transom heights. Most buckets come complete with sturdy aluminum berley muncher. Some buckets have holes that can be enlarged by the fisherman dependent on the desired size.

Most stores and fishing equipment suppliers carry berley buckets along with the other boat and fishing equipment. In your search for the perfect bucket for your ship, find one that is sturdy and crack resistant and can adapt to different weights to fit the changing tidal conditions. Look for a berley bucket that is made from UV stabilized polyethylene so it can function unaffected by salt water and daylight.

But apart from finding the best bucket, never forget to mount your berley bucket properly else it won't function the way in which it should. It is recommended that you mount it on a sliding bracket and make sure that the bottom part is barely above the base of your boat.
